Le Ciel de Nantes

Christophe Honoré has long carried in his mind an « imaginary movie » about his family. He never went so far as to shoot it. The plot interweaves six lives over three generations and extends from the bombing of Nantes during WW2 to President Chirac’s first term. Honoré has worked with a cast of eight which includes several interpreters of Les Idoles [The Idols], his latest success at the Odéon. Together, they play more than twenty characters, immersing them in our collective history as they recreate this film-theatre before the audience, as accurately as possible, in a disused cinema venue where they gather "as if in a shelter". A work where emotions and their memories cannot be told apart.
