Le voci di Dante – [Les voix de Dante]

A narrative journey under the sign of the author of The Divine Comedy. Through the writings of Neapolitan writer Giuseppe Montesano, actor Toni Servillo invites audiences to rediscover one of the founding works of world literature.

Toni Servillo is a leading figure in Italian cinema, known in France for his roles in films by Paolo Sorrentino (La Grande Bellezza, Il Divo) Matteo Garrone (Gomorra) and Marco Bellocchio (La belle endormie). He has received numerous awards in his own country and in Europe for his performances.

As a theatre director, his work on plays by Molière, Marivaux, Goldoni (La Trilogie de la villégiature, presented at Milan's Piccolo Teatro) and Eduardo De Filippo (Le voci di dentro) has become benchmarks. In Paris, we saw her version of Elvire-Jouvet 40, based on the text by Brigitte Jaques-Wajeman, at the Théâtre de l'Athénée in 

Giuseppe Montesano is a novelist, literary critic and translator. He also writes for the Neapolitan daily Il Mattino.

In France, he has published Comment devenir vivants: manuel pour lecteurs sauvages (Éditions Atlantiques déchaînés, 2022) and Dans le corps de Naples (Éditions Métailié, 2011) and Cette Vie mensongère 2005). As a translator, he has presented and translated Baudelaire's Opere into Italian with Giuseppe Raboni for the I Meridiani collection, as well as works by Flaubert, Villiers de L'Isle-Adam, Gautier and La Fontaine.

In the theatre, he has worked with Toni Servillo for over ten years as a writer and translator, translating for him Berlioz's Lélio, ou Le retour à la vie and Brigitte Jaques-Wajeman's Elvira (Italian adaptation of Elvire Jouvet 40).
