Pinocchio
5th – 20th December, 2015
Pinocchio has many faults. But he also lots up his sleeve to enchant us. Born in one fell swoop and with no time to grow up, he cares little for the dictums of patience and hard work. He has not come to this world to get bored, but rather to make the most of life. He is poor, with few means. In short, what he has is a head made of wood - and his manners are not always highly polished. Sincerity is not always his speciality either... But sometimes, in order to grow up, you have to start with the nose. And after all, “this extraordinary but true story” helps us realize that “nothing is more important in life than the truth”... How can we grow up whilst remaining free? Do we sometimes have to turn our back on our promises in order to keep our word? First produced at the Odéon in March 2008, this bewitching Pinocchio by Joël Pommerat will satisfy all audiences.
